Dive Packages

For those new to diving

Introductory dive

This is designed to give you a taste of what diving in the Red Sea is all about and includes all necessary equipment. You'll learn what wearing scuba equipment feels like and how easy it is to move around underwater while wearing it; find out what it's like to breathe underwater and learn whether you can be comfortable there; learn some basic skills and safety rules that will carry over to your full scuba certification course when you take the next step.

Certified Diving Courses

Scuba Diver Course

During this 2-3 day beginners' course you'll cover material and practice skills related to topics such a buoyancy skills, staying warm under water, streamlining your swimming skills and buddy diving techniques, diving environments and aquatic life you're likely to encounter, preventing common problems underwater and an introduction to boat diving. This is similar to the Open Water Course, but fewer modules are taken. You can upgrade to Open Water later.

Open Water Diver Course

This 4-5 day beginner's course includes equipment and a logbook and is the world's most popular scuba course. It includes knowledge development to understand basic principles of scuba diving, Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills and Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore! During the course, you'll make at least five pool dives and four dives at local dive sites under the supervision of your PADI Instructor.

Advanced Open Water

This 2 day advanced course includes practical aspects of deep diving and the physiological effects of deeper scuba diving, more ways to use your underwater compass, how to navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time, how to better use your dive computer and electronic Recreational Dive PlannerTM (eRDPTM). Please note: This course does not include equipment.

For those already certified to dive

1 day dive

Includes 1 day on the diving boat, 2 dives, 2 tanks and weights. Excludes equipment.

3 day dive

Includes 3 days on the diving boat, 6 dives, 6 tanks and weights. Excludes equipment.

5 day dive

Includes 5 days on the diving boat, 10 dives, 2 tanks and weights. Excludes equipment.

What's included in the price

All diving packages include pick up from your hotel, tanks, weights and weight belts.

Prices vary by resort, by your specific requirements, and with currency fluctuations. We recommend that you contact us to confirm an actual cost for the package you are interested in. Where dive packages are available to pre-book before your departure, prices will be displayed in the Extras section of the holiday Search & Book.

There may be additional costs which vary by diving package and resort. These can include:

  • Certification fees and manuals (ca. £50-£70)
  • Environmental taxes and national park fees (ca. £5 per day)
  • Lunch (ca. £5)

Before you dive

To be eligible to dive, you must be at least 10 years old*, a good swimmer, and in good health. Subject to the diving course you choose, no previous diving experience is required, however, for all divers there are a number of criteria you must satisfy.

You must have a valid medical certificate. This must be presented to the diving school certifying that you are fit to dive. It must be no more than 1 year old, and can be obtained from your doctor before you leave.

You must fill in a PADI Medical Statement form. If you are in any doubt about your medical status in respect of diving, or your physical condition, please review this form before you leave home, and consult your doctor. The form can be found online at www.padi.com/scuba-diving/about-padi/padi-forms/

Advanced divers are recommended to take their diving card, logbook and certification.

*There are minimum age limits on some courses; please ask for details prior to booking.

After you dive (Important Note)

For health reasons, you must not fly within 24 hours of your last dive. Please remember this when planning your diving activities.

Book your diving package

Most diving packages should be booked with you Red Sea Holidays rep on arrival in resort. Selected diving packages may be available to pre-book before departure; see the Extras section in the holiday Search & Book when booking your holiday.

Essential Information

Timing and itineraries of diving activity packages are subject to change and in extreme cases cancellation, for instance, owing to adverse weather conditions. If we hear of any changes before you leave, we'll let you know. Should the activity be cancelled, your deposit will be refunded in full. Red Sea Holidays is acting only in the capacity of an Agent for the supplier in the sale of activity tours and tickets. When making an activity booking, you accept that you are entering into a contract directly between the supplier of the activity and yourself. The activity providers' terms and conditions will apply. Confirmation of the activity will appear on your confirmation invoice. If you decide to cancel your booking, then you may be liable for the full cost of the activity booked. This will be up to your activity provider. The balance of the activity price must be paid in resort. Note that overseas payments by credit/debit card may incur currency and transaction charges.
